AFRC-DIRF-07164
ElRakayby, Hosam (Principal Investigator) Elsayed, Ahmed (Co-investigator)
06-Jan-2025 - 28-Jan-2025
Finite Element Analysis of Hydroforming Process
Elsayed, Ahmed (Principal Investigator) Allazadeh, Mohammad (Research Co-investigator)
Finite element (FE) analysis was performed to investigate the feasibility of hydroforming a thick stainless-steel tray. The simulation results will provide information about the approach to form special thick stainless steel tray and the optimal design needed to form such thick component.
02-Jan-2024 - 12-Jan-2024
Finite Element Analysis of Pressing Process of Thick Stainless Steel Tray
Allazadeh, Mohammad (Research Co-investigator) Elsayed, Ahmed (Principal Investigator)
Finite element FE analysis was performed to investigate the feasibility of pressing a thick stainless-steel tray. The simulation results will provide information about the approach to form particular stainless steel tray and the optimal design needed to form such thick component.

AFRC-CRAD-1302 Carruthers Wheel: Very Low Head Hydro-Electricity
Sancho, Alexander (Co-investigator) Parameswaran, Elangovan (Principal Investigator) Elsayed, Ahmed (Co-investigator) Marini, Daniele (Co-investigator)
The design of a new waterwheel to be used for power generation in developing countries was developed. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models of the waterwheel were created and used to investigate its operating principle. The models were also used to validate experimental measurements taken from a prototype of the wheel. It was observed that the efficiency of the proposed system is significantly higher than that of more traditional designs.
